Water flosser tip replacement guide

Choose replacement nozzles by the exact device model, not just by colour or shape. Before ordering, confirm the connection, the intended model and the pack contents.

Check compatibility first

  • Find the model name on your device or its packaging.
  • Compare it with the replacement product information. A similar-looking connector does not establish compatibility.
  • If your model or the pack quantity is unclear, contact us before buying. Include the model and a photo of the existing nozzle.

When should a nozzle be replaced?

Follow the inspection, cleaning and replacement instructions supplied for your particular device and nozzle. Do not use a visibly damaged attachment or force one that does not fit securely.

Intervals are product-specific. For example, Waterpik's own tip guide specifies different intervals for different tips. Those instructions do not establish a replacement schedule or compatibility for VPsmile products.

Before replacing the whole device

If you are unsure whether a problem comes from the nozzle or the handle, contact support with your model and a description of the issue. Do not buy a replacement part on the assumption that it will resolve an unidentified fault.

Signs a nozzle may need attention

Inspect the nozzle in good light every so often. Common reasons to stop using one and check it, or to replace it according to the instructions, include:

  • Cracks or chips in the plastic.
  • A bent or crushed tip end, for example after a drop or in luggage.
  • A weak, sideways or misty spray that does not improve after rinsing.
  • A clog you cannot clear with a careful rinse. Do not push metal objects into the opening.
  • Discolouration or a smell that remains after rinsing and drying.
  • A loose fit: the nozzle should click or seat securely as described in the instructions.

Everyday care that keeps nozzles in good shape

  1. After each use, switch off, empty the tank and rinse the nozzle under clean running water.
  2. Let the nozzle and tank air-dry. Avoid sealing a wet nozzle in a closed case.
  3. Clean the device as its instructions describe. Only use cleaning liquids, boiling or a dishwasher if the instructions allow it.
  4. Store spare nozzles clean and dry until needed.

For a full care routine, see how to clean a water flosser.

One person, one nozzle

A nozzle goes in your mouth, so do not share it. In a shared bathroom, give each person their own nozzle and keep them apart while drying. Colour or mark them so they are easy to tell apart.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I replace a water flosser nozzle?

Follow the instructions for your exact device and nozzle. Replace it sooner if it is cracked, bent, blocked, discoloured, smells after rinsing or no longer fits securely.

How do I know which replacement nozzle fits my device?

Match the model name on your device or packaging with the replacement product information. A similar-looking connector does not prove compatibility; contact us with your model and a photo if unsure.

Can I share a nozzle with someone else?

No. Each person should use their own nozzle, stored separately to dry.

Can I boil a nozzle or put it in the dishwasher?

Only if the instructions for your device allow it. Otherwise rinse with clean water and let it air-dry.

My spray is weak. Do I need a new device?

Not always. Rinse the nozzle and try a compatible new one first. If the spray is still weak, check the tank and charge, then contact support before replacing the device.

Will a new nozzle help bleeding gums?

No. Persistent pain or bleeding needs a dental check rather than an accessory change. Not medical advice.
